Tematyka
Wykładowca rozwija pionierskie badania w zakresie zastosowania histopatologii spektralnej w podczerwieni (SHP) we wczesnej diagnostyce nowotworów . Wykład odbędzie się w poniedziałek 19.10.2015 r. o godz. 9.00, w Sali Audytoryjnej (Kinowej) w budynku C Parku Life Science (Bobrzyńskiego 14).
Advances in micro-spectroscopic instrumentation, and enhanced computing power, have
enabled enormous progress in the application of infrared spectroscopy to problems to
label-free, objective and reproducible medical diagnoses and prognoses. Infrared
spectral histopathology (SHP) and infrared spectral cytopathology(SCP) have been
developed for the detection of pre-cancer and cancer in tissue and individual exfoliated
cells, respectively. These techniques offer accuracies of over 90 %, and may surpass the
overall accuracy typically achieved by classical methods. Theory, instrumentation and
results for lung tissue, as well as exfoliated cells from the esophagus, and the oral and
cervical epithelium, will be presented.
