Webinar "The Role of Anti-PLA2R and Other Biomarkers in the Diagnosis of Membranous Nephropathy" (17.02.2022)

Termin i miejsce

17.02.2022
Program:
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is a kidney-specific autoimmune disease that is a major cause of nephrotic syndrome. The autoimmune nature of MN was first discovered upon the identification of antibodies to the phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R). Antibodies to PLA2R occur in 70% to 80% of patients with MN and have been shown to have a high diagnostic value.

Recent guidelines for the management of glomerular diseases have highlighted the importance of anti-PLA2R antibody detection for MN diagnosis, monitoring, and transplant evaluation. In this webinar, Dr. Laurence Beck will introduce the pathogenesis of MN, and highlight the role of anti-PLA2R and other biomarkers in MN diagnosis and monitoring.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the pathogenesis of membranous nephropathy
2. Identify the relevant biomarkers involved in primary membranous nephropathy
3. Discuss how the detection of biomarkers can aid in diagnosis and monitoring of membranous nephropathy
